NN is founded in the town of Erwin, Tennessee in October 1980.
The Company issues an IPO and begins trading on the NASDAQ under the NNBR ticker symbol.
A key acquisition, Industrial Molding Corporation’s plastic injection molding business serves as a strong complement to NN’s existing product line and helps launch the Company’s diversification efforts.
The acquisitions of Autocam Corporation, Whirlaway Corporation, and V-S Industries incorporate new technologies and expand the Company’s geographic reach. Autocam’s respected brand and global presence positions NN as a top-three player in the precision metal components market.
Acquisition again expands NN’s market reach into the electrical, transportation, medical, and aerospace segments, adding the trusted Brainin and General Metal Finishing brands to the enterprise.
NN exits the ball and roller business to focus on strategic end markets. Following acquisitions in life sciences, the segment is later sold, providing capital to fund growth in key current and emerging electrical and transportation markets.
Today, NN is focused on long-term growth, fueled by a successful history in both the electrical and automotive industries that has positioned the Company well for the EV transition and the modernization of the electric grid. With state-of-the-art capabilities, innovative solutions, and a global reach, NN is driving disciplined, focused growth within each of its key end markets.
