NN’s clad metal technology combines the desirable characteristics of two or more materials into one. The result is a composite material system with an intermetallic bond that is configured to meet your exact specifications and quality requirements. Benefits of using clad metals include improved product performance, reduced material costs, simplified production processes, and reliable metal consistency.

To assure the best possible bond, the process is performed in a controlled atmosphere that prevents oxidation or the introduction of impurities at the bond interface. The result is a clad metal system with thicknesses ranging from 0.002” to 0.250” and widths up to 4.00”, with individual components as thin as 0.000025”.

NN uses both conventional and proprietary bonding techniques to produce metals of superior bond integrity and quality. Our multiple state-of-the-art bonding lines are designed to provide our customers with long continuous coils of material that consistently meet and exceed end user production requirements. NN’s proprietary Controlled Atmosphere bonding process is capable of producing the thickest thermostat metals available worldwide and assures you the best bond and largest coils of consistent quality. Complete test facilities monitor key parameters such as flexivity, resistivity and hardness. NN’s thermostat metals are available in thicknesses ranging from 0.004” to 0.150”.
